Sometimes when people died an inventory was made of their goods in order to decide inheritance issues. These inventories for probate provide an invaluable insight into how people lived. The DBRG has compiled a list of probate inventories for covering the period of 16th to 19th centuries. The entries for Chobham are shown below.
